The Public Health Nursing (PHN) Section has published a white paper as guidance for general disaster shelter operations. The paper builds on a survey indicating confidence in PHNs to provide population based services by clarifying their role. It proposes two resource type teams that include PHNS.

In Findlay, severe storms in the second week of July led to record size flooding. Flooding is the country’s most costly and frequently occurring natural disaster and are most often a result of heavy precipitation and failure of natural draining.
