State Laws Limiting Public Health Protections: Hazardous For Our Health

The Network for Public Health Law notes in a recent report that following the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, more than half of the states have passed legislation that restrict public health officials from taking action to protect the health of their communities. The report looks at legislation adopted as of May 2022 and provides an analysis of how the laws could significantly weaken the ability leaders to respond to future public health emergencies.
