Despair Deaths May Pass “Worst Case Scenario” Trajectory

Earlier we told you about a report detailing the growing problem of Americans dying of alcohol- and drug-induced deaths and suicides.  A newer analysis from Trust for America’s Health says the country may pass the “worst-case scenario” projection trajectory.The article bases the newer prediction on the number of deaths in 2016 and pushes the projection from 1.6 million to over 2 million in the coming decade. The sharp rise is attributed to deaths from synthetic opioids having doubled from 2015-2016.

The article reiterates the call for a National Resilience Strategy.
