Concealed Carry Reciprocity and Ohio

Americans for Responsible Solutions (ARS) has released an Ohio fact sheet regarding proposed federal legislation that would require states to recognize the concealed carry laws from all other states.

The fact sheet is one of a series highlighting states where the ARS feels residents need to be aware and engaged. The fact sheets show how the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 would weaken each state’s current laws if enacted.  Regarding Ohio, the analysis found:

“Ohio law does not allow those without
concealed carry permits to carry in Ohio. If the
concealed carry reciprocity bill passes, Ohio
would be federally mandated to change state law
and honor the weak or nonexistent concealed
carry standards of other states, making Ohio less
safe and putting law enforcement at risk.”
