Our mission is to be the inclusive voice for Public Health, to proactively advocate for policies that reduce health disparities and empower all people to achieve their optimal health, and to advance the practice of public health in Ohio.ensure the optimal health of all Ohioans and to be the inclusive Voice of Public Health in Ohio.

We have a strong belief in the power and value of being that voice – for all Ohioans!  And to that end, we champion a Health and Equity in All Policies approach to decision-making and policy development. Only when all Ohioans have equal access to high quality prevention and health care services, and when the places where we all live, learn, work, play and pray comprise the healthiest communities possible, will our work be done! And then we’ll find more ways to make a healthier difference for Ohioans and we’ll keep working!

President's Message

It is an honor for me to serve as president of the Ohio Public Health Association.  I enter the position at a time when our organization is steadily moving toward fulfilling its mission of being the Inclusive Voice of Public Health in Ohio.  I sincerely thank our immediate past president, Natalie DiPietro Mager, for her focused leadership in guiding our association through a period of transition and setting us on the right course. It is now my charge to help find new solutions to some of the old, yet persistent, public health challenges.                    

I intend to set the following three priorities as we move forward in this journey:  Improve the Fiscal Health of OPHA; Continue Our Statewide Leadership in Health and Equity in All Policies and Elevate the Profile of OPHA.  Read Full President’s Message Here
